Information About the Training
What:
The College and School of the Ozarks is excited to host its second annual teacher training, STT25. This year, we will offer two levels of training:
Level 1 is designed for teachers in their first few years of classical Christian education.
Level 2 is tailored for more experienced teachers and will include discipline- and grade-specific collaborative sessions in addition to other advanced trainings.
When:
July 14–17, 2025
Where:
College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Missouri
Schedule:
Monday evening: Arrival and check-in to dormitory
Tuesday–Wednesday: Full training days (8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
Thursday: Half-day of sessions (8:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
Cost:
The full cost of the training is $500, but thanks to the generous support of The Herzog Foundation, this cost is completely covered for all participants. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Please do not register unless you are confident you can attend.
Details:
The STT25 fee (covered by Herzog) includes lodging, meals, and the costs of all training sessions.
Participants will stay in shared double-occupancy rooms in our on-campus dormitory.
Meals will be provided by the College.

Training Overview
Level 1: Purpose, Preparation, Pedagogy, and Portrait
Purpose – Learn how to clearly articulate and embody the purpose of classical Christian education in your classroom and school community, with a focus on cultivating wisdom and virtue.
Preparation – Discover how to translate curriculum into engaging lesson plans, set clear expectations, and frame your academic year for success.
Pedagogy – Two core seminars:
Trivium Integration: Applying the Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric stages across K–12.
Classical Teaching Strategies: Exploring how to teach facts, skills, and ideas with clarity and confidence. Topics include assessment, classroom management, and classical instructional principles.
Portrait – Learn how to use your school's Graduate Profile to shape classroom practices and align instruction with your school’s mission and goals.
Level 2: The Path to Becoming a Master Teacher
Level 2 participants will build on Level 1 foundations through discipline-specific workshops and collaborative group work designed to refine and enhance classroom practices.
